Next Steps After You Apply
- Gain Access to Our Portal: Upon submission of your application, you will receive access to our secure online adoption portal.
- Review the Agency Contract: The adoption agency contract will be available for you to download and review within the portal.
- Submit Your Contract and Fees: After you review and sign the contract, you will submit it along with the first set of non-refundable fees. The fees vary depending on the service:
- Ohio Domestic Adoption Homestudy Fee: A $1,800 fee is due to begin and complete your homestudy assessment.
- Stepparent Adoption Homestudy Fee: A $1,200 fee is due to begin and complete your homestudy assessment.
- Adoption Program Fee: A $4,000 fee is due when you sign the adoption program contract to work in either the Domestic Newborn or State Waiting Adoption Program. This fee covers the initial portion of our agency services.
*Please note: Some families prefer to complete their homestudy first before moving forward with agency fees. If you wish to do so, simply apply for “Homestudy Only” initially.
Your Online Adoption Process
Once all required documents from the contract packet are received, we will grant you access to the next set of documents within the portal. All paperwork needed for your homestudy and adoptive parent profile is conveniently available 24/7 in our portal. We release documents step-by-step to ensure the process is manageable and not overwhelming. All required training is completed online, eliminating the need for in-person classroom sessions.
Application Validity
Your Application for Adoption is valid for 60 days. To avoid a re-application fee, all applicants must complete and submit the agency contract within 60 days of the original application date. The application fee is non-refundable.
