What is Permanency for a Child?

Permanency planning is the process of helping a child find a safe and stable home with a lifelong family. Children in foster care often experience multiple moves and a lack of consistency, which can be traumatic. A permanent family provides the secure foundation a child needs to develop a sense of belonging, trust, and well-being.
