It was very difficult for Allison to get pregnant the first time, and we knew it likely would be again. After two years of difficult testing, medication and interventions it became clear that carrying a biological child would not be something that would come easily, or even safely. Our goal was simply to expand our family, to share our love and home with more children, and the biological link was not the important factor, so instead of continuing with medical intervention, we turned to adoption. We have adoption in our family in various forms: adoptees mothers, foster children, and adoptive parents. Adoption is close to our hearts, and we see it as how our family was meant to be completed.
