Why Adoption?
As a child, Carolyn had a desire to grow her family through adoption. One thing that caught her attention about Jacob was when he was sharing with friends about his desire to adopt. We both have seen the impact adoption can have through relationships with individuals who have adopted a child or were adopted. As we considered marriage, we agreed that we would like to adopt to grow our family. We prayed and asked God when we should begin the adoption process. After four miscarriages, and a year of infertility, we decided to transition and begin the adoption process.
Although we plan to have biological children at another time, we currently want to partner with expectant parents as they consider adoption. In our faith, we believe that God, our Father, has adopted us as his sons and daughters. While earthly adoption is not the perfect reflection of Biblical adoption, it can still reflect the love God has for us.
